Empowering Deaf Education in Maharashtra
Launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, Deaf Online Tutoring (DOT) began as an emergency response to school closures. What started as a small intervention has now grown into a statewide online learning center for deaf children, breaking barriers of geography and accessibility.
Today, DOT connects students across Maharashtra with trained deaf educators who not only teach but also inspire as role models. Through live, interactive sessions, students gain quality academic support while building confidence and communication skills.
But DOT is more than just academics—it’s a community. By bringing deaf children together, we create a space for belonging, shared identity, and collaboration, often missing in traditional classrooms. Our special focus is on children facing multiple barriers, such as those from low-income families or households of deaf parents, and we provide scholarships and essential resources to support them.
With every session, DOT is reshaping the future of deaf education—from emergency solution to sustainable movement for equity, dignity, and opportunity.

By fostering leadership, self-determination, and shared responsibility, we are building a powerful network of deaf-led institutions that ensures lasting, equitable, and community-driven education for every deaf learner—today and for generations to come.
